Papercraft - Dracula (怪物くん)

The last piece - Dracula from Kaibutsu-kun is complete.  Don't have the best lighting here, will post a better version once the template is done.

Next project - "Roar" from "Wowo Go Roar!"

Papercraft - WoWo go Roar!

With an old brown folder and spare time after office hour, a simple papercraft of "WoWo go Roar!" is made.

The story 'WoWo go Roar!' roughly came together a couple years back.  It's about a baby lion being dressed as a full grown to better protect himself while looking for his lost parents, with his shrunken friend who has a chain-gun on his left arm, looking for a way to scale himself back to normal... as their journey goes on, the ironic dependency relationship gets developed between the two... can't sound lamer than that.  I haven't give it much thoughts after, so story remains.

Template to follow (Dracula from Katbutsu-kun is soon to come)

Papercraft - OPEN小將

Recently discovered this interesting icon from Taiwan. Intrigued by the 7-Eleven rainbow on his head so gave this character a try.

Papercraft - Kaibutsu-kun (怪物くん)

Took a while to get the head and hat right, but I'm still happy with the results.  It's 7cm tall, a couple centermeters taller than the Anpanman set.  I image Franken to be 13-15cm tall.

Papercraft - Rilakkuma (Request)

Took forever to design the layout properly so that the folds and seams match perfectly.
Would have been a lot better if I made him chubbier.

The next project is Kaibutsu-kun (怪物くん), one of the many manga written by Motoo Abiko (安孫子 素雄), which is more popularly known as 藤子 A 不二雄 - Fujiko Fujio (The partnership of master Motoo and master Hiroshi Fujimoto (藤本 弘 - also known as 藤子 F 不二雄) in the early years.  The Animated series in colour was ran over 2 years time from 1980-1982.  The story about a young prince from monster island, traveling to the human world to explore and meet different people/monsters, with his companions - Dracula, Franken, and Wolfman.

As life becomes busy, the project is foreseeable to move fairly slow.

Creampanda - Papercraft

Because Creampanda is relatively small compare to the rest of the characters, it is extra difficult to put together the details, especially the creases on his tiny head and feet.  Not entirely happy with the result, but glad it's done.

Currypanman - Papercraft

Project - Anpanman

My near to complete project - Anpanman, is one of the most well known picture book & cartoon character in Japan since 1973, written by Takashi Yanase. The series has over 1,500 characters that are mostly food related.  Even though it is not as well known as Hello Kitty within North America, Anpanman is extremely popular in Japan.

Anpanman - Papercraft

Having myself fascinated by Anpanman (a Japanese anime cartoon began in 1973), I did some searching and found a nice little papercraft template at June's Blog.

Though the template came with Anpanman alone without any instructions, I managed to modified and created 3 other characters - (from left to right) Melonpanna, Baikinman, Shokupanman:

I'm on my way to complete a few more characters. Currypanman and Creampanda is going to be a challenge:

Uncle Jam          Currypanman

Dokin-chan           Creampanda
